Our team has extensive experience in various areas of EU law. We argued cases before the Greek courts and the EU Court of Justice involving the exercise of the EU fundamental freedoms in areas such as the free movement of agricultural products and the protected designations of origin and the right of establishment and cross border provision of health services.
We have developed a particular expertise in the law of the Common Agricultural Policy and we have been working closely with individual farmers, cooperatives, unions, private farming corporations, private advisory, servicing and IT firms specialized in farming as well as with public entities and government agencies entrusted with the application of CAP legislation and, in particular, the various subsidy schemes for the farming industry.
Our EU law practice extends to the application of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, which can be invoked in cases which fall within the field of EU law and is increasingly implemented by Greek Courts in the last decade. Additionally, our firm has a distinctive human rights practice related to the application of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, in the context of which we have argued landmark Greek cases before the European Court of Human Rights.
In light of application of the new EU legislation for data protection in 2018, our firm has developed compliance strategies which can be adjusted to the specific needs of clients falling within the ambit of GDPR.
